Seam Carving is a new image manipulation technology that gives incredible results. It can resize an image - even rescale it - without altering its main features. It can even be used to remove an object from a picture. Take a few minutes to watch this video explaining and demonstrating the technology. It is really amazing.

Shai Avidan, one of the co-inventors of this technology is now working with Adobe, so I think we can expect a very good seam carving implementation in the next Photoshop release.
